In the world of Pokémon, long before man knows of the Merpeople; the people of the ocean, which our story starts at the ocean. Now some people think that the ocean holds only a few stories that it can easily be forgotten. But to most people, out of all sea stories that have ever been told by sailors, pirates, and mariners, they all recall story about a mermaid who wants to live on the land. 

Once upon a time, where the Wingulls fly above the ocean sky and the Wailmars and the Mantykes plays and splash above the waves, a ship pass by. On the ship were sailors who love nothing more than working and singing about sailing. And on the quarter deck holding on backstay, was brave young man named Prince Ashton and his pet Pikachu who enjoys the ocean more than any sailors on the ship.  “Isn’t this great, Oak?” said Prince Ashton, “The salt sea air, the wind blowing at your face,” “Pika, Pika.” Said Pikachu as Ashton inhales and exhales the fresh and beautiful air. “It’s a perfect day to be at sea!” “Uh...mm...Oh yes,” said an old man named Oakford, who the only one is not enjoying the sea while being seasick. “De...Delightful……humph!”  “A fine wind and clam waves at sea.” Said a sailor as Ashton helps to ties up one of the sails rope. “King Neptuno must be in a very good mood.” “King Neptuno?” asked Ashton, “who’s he?” “Why, He’s the ruler of the Merpeople, lad; you know, mermaids and merman,” Said the old sailor as he whittles a stick with his knife while sitting on a barrel. “Mermaid and merman? Are you sure?” asked Ashton. “Of course boy, they say every sailor knows about him.” He winks. “Merpeople Ridicules.” Said Oakford. “Ashton, pay no attention to this nautical nonsense.” “It ain’t Nonsense, ya nonbeliever!” shouted the old sailor as he pointed Oakford with his whittled stick, “It’s the truth! I’m telling ya, they’re down at the depths of ocean! Even the sea-type Pokémon knew they exist.” “Look, Oakford!” said Ashton as he saw something in the ocean. “A pod of Lapras!” For he was right, a pod of Lapras were swimming and floating at the sea. One of them notices the ship it swam right toward it. The crew and Oakford tried to remain still while Ashton seems to be fond with it and offered it a pecha berry, the Lapras ate the berry and it was very pleased it. To show gratitude, the Lapras cooed and snuggles Ashton, he smile and stroke along its face and then it time of it go back to its pod. “Well, Ashton.” Said Oakford, who was not trying to be amused. “You certainly have a way with Pokémon.” “Well, thanks Oakford.” Said Ashton as he glazes into ocean where the sun shines on it. Ashton picked up Pikachu and carries on his arm. “Pika pi?” ask Pikachu. “You know Pikachu,” said Ashton. “Sometimes I wish, I wish I could live in ocean. And I wish if there are really merpeople.” “Why, they are.” Said the old sailor. “Even your pretty Lapras knows. All you just have to do is just believe, lad. Just believe.”

As the ship was leaving, the Lapras took a look at it until it's gone, then it swam down in to the ocean. Down to where to the sea weed were greener, and where the anemones shows off its pretty colors. Down to where a school of Goldeens swam elegantly, and where the Tentacools float about in ocean. Down where the great Wailord swam, then finally the Lapras was finally led by merpeople and along with other sea Pokémon. Everyone was swimming in a line until they finally reach to a giant cave, and through the cave was a beautiful underwater kingdom called Aqualadica.

It was a beautiful kingdom made of coral, mother of pearl and pearls, a kingdom where sea Pokémon and Merpeople co-exist each other. Like most kingdoms, they have houses, playground for merchildren and Pokémon to play, a coral garden square, a marketplace, and especially a beautiful castle. But on that day, it was day of the celebration of this kingdom’s founding and this year marks the blessing of the legendary Manaphy. Everyone was on their way to the coral auditorium for the celebration concert. And all of the Merpeople and Pokémon big and small took their seats in front of a gigantic theatre. A fanfare was played by twelve merman then Horsea in a gold banner appeared.  He clears his throat and announced, “Their royal Highnesses, King Neptuno and Queen Coraleona!”  The orchestra played a welcoming fanfare and everyone cheered as the king and his queen riding on a shell chariot by a beautiful majestic Milotic. The king began to wave his magical trident and he shoots a spark of magic into the chandelier and lights were shooting in a beautiful display. Everyone applauded. The Horsea continued, “Presenting our greatest guest of honor, the legendary Manaphy!” A big fanfare was playing when the Manaphy arrived in a swirl of bubbles, he smiles and swam around in many swimming techniques. Everyone applauded, and he escorted to his little box.  “Now presenting,” the horsea continued once more, “that distinguish royal court composer, ambassador, artist, advisor, a Crawdaunt of all trade, Horatio Thelonious Ignacious Crawdailuis Crawford!” One trumpet played the fanfare for one Crawford the Crawdaunt as he rides on a small shell chariot by two Goldeens.  Being so modest, he throws a kiss with claw then but he almost loses but gains control his goldeens. The two chariots meet up. “I’m really looking forward to this performance, Crawford.” Said the king as he steer the Milotic to his box. “You’ve worked so hard for the past six months and we’re so proud of you.” Said the queen. “Oh, Your majesties,” said the modest Crawford in a surprising British accent. “This will be the finest concert I have ever conducted.” He continues as the king and queen landed their chariot on their box. “And what an honor it is that the one and only Manaphy to watch and witness at our kingdom’s celebration. And your children, they will be spectacular!” He loses balance and tries to gains control again. “Yes,” said the king. “And especially for our little Misteria.”  “Yes, yes.” Said Crawford. “She does have the most beautiful voice.” He turns away and rides down and said behind, “if only she shows up rehearsals once in a while.” At the orchestra pit, everyone and Pokémon were tuning their instruments. A spotlight was lighting to Crawford who was on his way to the maestro stand, everyone applauded then went to silence. He landed his chariot on the stand. He tucked in his shell like a suit and he cracked his claw like knuckles. He pulls out his sheet music and puts it on his music stand. He taps his baton, he raised it, and orchestra plays an intro. The bubble curtain rises, showing eight Shellder props revealing three older sons, three daughters and two young twin sons. And they all sang like this:

The children: Welcome to everybody to founding celebration, we hope that this will be no doubt a big sensation. Let’s us give our thank you to our mother and our father, and we love you very much from your sons and your daughters. Let us to introduce with no hesitation.

The first sons: We are Noah and Judas the first in line to the throne; with our brotherly love we will never ever be alone.

The daughters: We’re Lillie, Violet, and Daisy the princesses you know, with our radiant beauty we have really got show.

The twins: And we’re the twins; Lucas and Tidas the last standing in line you know, we love to sing and dance but that’s not all we really show.

The children: And what a day to make today a great big sensation, to have the great Manaphy joining in our celebration. Now last and finally we introduce last sister to you, with her grace and her beauty and a voice that’s pure and true. Just the sound of her singing makes you go hysteria, without further ado, our sister Misteri-----

The children were in shocked to see that the Shellder prop revealed that no one was inside. Everyone gasp! Thankfully, the Manaphy was enjoying himself. Crawford also gasped in fear knowing that a certain mermaid was heading for trouble. “MISTERIA!” shouted the king in an angry father way. In fact, he shouted so loud, it echoed throughout the kingdom.

At another part of the ocean at a sunken ship graveyard, was Misteria exploring. Misteria was young mermaid, rather if she’s in her 16 or 18.  She has beautiful green eyes, a smile so nice you’ll adore her, a long red hair with a pink pearls hair band, a pair of coral earrings, two pink shells covering her chest, and a shiny teal tail with a yellow star on her left hip. She was exploring around the ships that were sunk, she was also carrying a bag. She was accompanied by a Luvdisc named Luna. As they were about to go in even further, a voice shouted in the distant, “Misteria, Luna! Wait for me!” “Relic,” Misteria called out, “hurry up!” “You gotta see this!” said Luna. Behind them was a Relicanth trying to catch up to the other girls and finally did. As you know, they live can longer than any other sea Pokémon, which in that case, he’s about 150 years old. “I’m 150 years old," he said, "you know I can’t swim that fast.” “There it is,” Said Misteria pointing out to a torn out sunken ship. “That’s the ship I told you two about. I mean, isn’t it fantastic?” “Yes,” said Relic, trying to be more enthusiastic than scared. “Sure it’s great. Nothing I like more than going to your death in an old, rickety ship. Now please, your grace, let’s get here.” “You know, I’m with you Relic. Wait for me!” said Luna as the two tried to swim away. Misteria scoffed and grabbed them by tail. “You’re not getting cold fins are you two?” she asked. “Us?” said Luna. “No way!” “Umm…me either!” added Relic. “After all, 100 years of serving the kingdom as the royal bodyguard, who would be?” Misteria and Luna were the first go in through a hole, except Relic who was got stuck. The two pulled him in, but somehow a large shadow swam by.  Finally, the three began exploring. “Well, this is great.” Said Relic nervously. “I mean, I really love this.” “Oh, come on Relic,” said Luna trying to give relic some encouragement. “Where’s that old bodyguard spirit? I’m mean, look around you. Excitement, adventure, danger lurking around every corn—AHHHHHHH!” she screamed in fright as she saw a skeleton and swam fast to Mysteria’s arm. “Luna,” she said. “Are you okay?” “Yeah, sure.” Said Luna, trembling in shock. “I’m fine, I’m great!” “Hmph.” Said Relic. “Now where’s your sense of adventure?” Luna scoffed in annoyance. The three looked around, Relic found some plates but they were tipped over and shattered. Luna found a pearl necklace but she said, “Nope, got too any those at home.”  “Luna! Relic! Come here!” Misteria called. “Look what I found!” Luan and Relic swam fast as they can to see what Misteria has found. At the gallery, Misteria shows them a fork and said, “Look guys, have you ever seen this in your life?” “Wow!” said Luna. “Amazing! It looks like a trident. But what is it?” Relic asked. “I don’t know.” Replied Misteria. “But I bet Pelly will.” Just then, the same shadow rolls back again. “What was that?” asked Luna. “I don’t know, but did you hear something?” added Relic. Misteria found a smoking pipe. “Misteria.” Said Luna. “I have a bad feeling about this.” Added Relic while the shadow was right behind the gallery window. “Relic, Luna, will you two relax?” asked Misteria. “Nothing’s going to happen.” But she spoke too soon. Luna and Relic turned around and saw a ferocious Gyarados ready to attack! The Gyarados chases the three around the ship. They managed to found the way they go in, but like the first time, Relic got stuck again and Luna and Misteria pushed him and got out. But the Gyarados was still on their trails, chasing faster and faster and getting closer and closer. Suddenly Relic spotted a small hole in the rocks. “Come on, girls!” shout Relic. “This way!” Relic led Luna and Misteria to the hole while the Gyarados was getting faster than a missile! The three went through the hole, but WHAM! The Gyarados was stuck in half! The three felt relieved, Relic said to the Gyarados with satisfaction, “Never mess with old Pokémon!” Misteria and Relic swam away while Luna taunted, “you big bully!!” She blows a raspberry but it gave one big chomp in front of her and scares her away. Misteria laughs, “Well, where’s your sense of adventures now?” Relic giggled. “Will you two cut it out?!” said Luna in annoyance.

Above the sea, on a little island, lived an usual Pelipper named Pelly, he was odd because he knows all about humans and human things. He lives on debris of rocks, ship pieces, and his nest was on a short crow’s nest. Pelly was his nest playing while looking to a telescope. “Pelly!” Misteria called. “Whoa!” exclaimed Pelly who looking into his telescope in the wrong the way. “Mermaid off the port bow! Misty! How you doing, kid?!” He away from and saw Misteria up close. “Whoa, what a swim.” “Pelly, look what we found.” Said Misteria showing her bag. “Oh! More human stuff, huh?” asked Pelly rushing down as fast he can. He digs inside found the fork. “Look at this.” He said. “Wow, you actually found one, it's a utensil” “But what, what is it?” Misteria asked eagerly. “It’s a human fork.” Pelly Explained. And he told the three how it was used, why was it used, and proper way on how to it us. Misteria was dazzled. “So what about that one?” Luna asked as shows Pelly the pipe. “Oh this.” Said Pelly “This! This I haven’t seen these in years! This is wonderful! A genuine, one-of-a-kind, Smoking pipe.” The three went awed. He explains how it was used, why was it used, and with what you can smoke it with. “Well sometimes,” Pelly continues, “they can make fine music, allow me.” Pelly blows on it but it was clogged seaweed. Then Misteria realized something as Pelly spites out the seaweed form pipe and his beak. “Music? Oh no! The concert!” she said as she quickly grabs all things. “Oh my gosh, my family is gonna kill me!” “The concert was today?!” Luna gasped. “Oh, now I remember!” said Relic, “I was suppose to escort you to the concert!”  “Or maybe you can make a little planter out of it or something.” Muttered Pelly. “I’m sorry.” Said Misteria who grabs back her pipe. “Like I said I’m sorry but I had to go! Thank you Pelly!” “Anytime sweetie!” shouted Pelly as the three swam back. “Anytime!”

As they swam in a hurry, two shifty Sharpedo twins crept from behind the rocks and observed them. As they observed the three, one of their eyes from their opposite glowed an eerie glow. As they focus on them, someone was also watching the three. In a murky cave, was a big bubble that displays a picture of Misteria and her friends who were on their way home by using the Sharpedos eyes. “Yes, hurry home princess.” Said a voice as she watches the bubble, “we wouldn’t want to miss old mommy and daddy’s celebration, now would we? Hump! Celebration indeed! Bah!” Her hand reaches a plate of cutout Tentacool’s tentacles as they were hors d'oeuvre. “In my day, we used to have a fantastic feast, when I, Jessica lived in the palace.” She continued then ate one of Tentacool’s tentacles. Jessica the sea witch was beautiful but sinister, she had a long magenta hair and red eyes that were also beautiful but devious. What makes her different is that unlike other mermaids, she has human features on her top but she was part black octopus on the bottom. That’s right, part octopus! “And now, like at Me.” she laments, “A beautiful creature like me, wasting away into nothing. Banished and exiled and practically starving to death. They had to banished me, all because of my little ambition to take the crown and the trident which was mine in the first place! While he and she and the flimsy fish folk celebrates! Well, I give them all something to celebrate sooner or not.” She gazed at her bubble shouted, “Zetto! Betta!” The two Sharpedos responded, “Yes, Jessica.” “I want you two to keep an eye on that pretty little daughter of theirs.” Jessica ordered and the two swam away. “She maybe the key the Neptuno’s undoing.” She said with a sinister, plotting smirk.
